I’ve been providing personalized financial advice to individuals and families for nearly two decades. My journey as a financial advisor started at American Express Financial Advisors (AEFA), which later became Ameriprise Financial, before starting my own independent firm. Ever since I started in the industry, I have strived to treat each and every client as if they were family — providing highly personal service and insightful, customized recommendations. 

My focus is on helping others remain financially prepared in an ever-changing world and throughout their ever-shifting lives. While we can’t control the future or predict what tomorrow will bring, we can create a financial strategy that abides, even as external circumstances change. This is what I’m dedicated to doing for my clients. 

My Story 

I was born in Memphis, TN in 1976 and moved to Dayton, OH at 8 months old. Growing up in Dayton, I enjoyed many activities with my grandparents that allowed me to expand my understanding of the world. We often visited places like the Air Force Museum, Carillon Park, and Marion's Pizza.

Growing up, I attended both public and private schools and continued to develop a unique and inclusive perspective of people and community. This understanding of diversity was further broadened when I was selected for the Walt Disney World College Program in the fall of 1996.

During this fully immersive experience, I had the opportunity to live, work, and study with 2,500 other students from around the country. It was on this program that I met my future wife, Kim. After returning home in January of 1997 to finish school, I waited tables and bartended. 

In September of 1998, Kim and I moved in together in Clermont, FL. After getting married in 2000, we started to build a life together — but tragedy soon struck, and Kim and I were both almost killed in a horrific car accident that October. 

The results were catastrophic, both physically and financially. We spent our days learning to walk again, reading, and talking. Throughout this experience, we determined that, in some way, we were destined to help others. This feeling was only strengthened when tragedy struck again in 9/11, and we saw many friends, family, and colleagues experience levels of financial stress they had never witnessed before.

Not long after this, Kim encouraged me to pursue my passion of helping others in a way that would lessen the pains of unexpected tragedy. With my family’s support, I embarked on the journey of becoming a financial advisor.

In addition to helping individuals and families develop strong financial foundations, I also am strongly involved in the community in various other ways. I host local events like the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, the Christmas Parade, 4th of July's Red, White, & Boom...and much more throughout the local community. 

The deep roots we’ve planted in the community, and the focus on each and every client as a member of the family, has finally led to the creation of Reed Family Wealth Services.

As “wearer of many hats” and co-owner of Reed Family Wealth Services, I manage the inner workings of the office while ensuring our clients have a comfortable and enriching experience with us. Alongside Wes, I care immensely for the individuals and families we serve and am dedicated to helping them safeguard their financial futures. 

My previous experience in hospitality has instilled an empathetic mindset and a desire to cultivate a welcoming environment for our clients. Before joining the firm, I worked as a restaurant manager in Magic Kingdom for a decade. Afterwards, I worked in real estate where I found great success. 

My Story

In 1985, I moved to Florida from northeastern PA with my parents. I graduated from West Orange High School in Winter Garden, FL. Wes and I met while at the Walt Disney World College Program. 

Both of my parents worked at disney for 30 years, so working there was natural for me. As a side note, Wes helped my parents retire early, and they are now able to have a happy and comfortable retirement. 

I’m passionate about the service and hospitality industry, as well as sales. I’ve always incorporated service in my various roles, from my time as a restaurant manager to my experience as a real estate agent. 

After Wes became a financial advisor and started his own firm, it made sense for me to come onboard. Both of us realized, “Who else would care as much about your clients as I would?” And so it began.

I bring my hospitality experiences, along with my compassion for others, to RFWS, where we’re committed to fostering a family-oriented community here at our practice.

When I’m not working, I love to read — everything and anything. I also love going to new restaurants in the central FL area as well as cooking and trying new things. In my free time, you can also find me going to shows at the Dr. Phillips Center, embracing all of the “Visit Florida” tourism activities (and our local theme parks) or cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning. We also love traveling to the Keys, where we got married. 

We are very involved in the local community, my favorite local fundraising event being TastofCF and anything with Hospice.
